Taking the Stand
For over 15 years, Ministry Ideaz has provided Jehovah’s Witnesses with supplies to support their ministry. Through its e-commerce platform, Ministry Ideaz sells a wide variety of spiritual products, including films such as Taking the Stand.
Taking the Stand is a 30-minute documentary and accompanying e-book highlighting the experiences of nine Holocaust survivors. It provides a first-hand look into the lives of some of the people who suffered unimaginable cruelty under the Nazi regime because of their ethnicity and religious beliefs. Between themselves, the nine people were interned in 54 different camps and institutions and imprisoned for a combined 44 years.
The people in the film include Renee Firestone, whose family was killed in concentration camps, Hermine Liska, who was forced into the Nazi’s indoctrination program but did not give in to its propaganda, and Adolf Burger, a survivor of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. It also includes Richard Rudolph, a man who was imprisoned for 19 years by two German dictatorships.
These people open up about their life experiences while answering questions posed by students from 30 countries around the world. Their answers offer younger generations lessons on history and the power of faith.
Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses
For the past 15 years, Ministry Ideaz has been producing thoughtfully designed and well-made products for the Jehovah’s Witnesses community from its headquarters in Ecuador. In addition to its classic range of portfolios, Bible covers, and bookbags, Ministry Ideaz is producing several specially designed items in support of the 2018 Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses, including themed refrigerator magnets, notebooks, and pens for children and adults.
A three-day event packed with discussion and activities, the annual Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses features talks and interviews, multimedia performances, and public Bible discourse in regional locations around the country. The free event is open to everyone.
Each of the three days of the convention focuses on a different verse from the Bible. This year, the Friday events reflect the spirit of Joshua 1:7, “Be courageous and very strong,” and includes a symposium on the need for courage among Christians. On Saturday, the theme centers on the verse, “Showing all the more courage to speak the word of God fearlessly” (Philippians 1:14), with talks and presentations exploring the courageousness of Jehovah’s Witnesses in their work in countries around the world. Sunday will feature activities based on the message of Psalm 27:14: “Be courageous and strong of heart. Yes, hope in Jehovah.”
The 2018 Convention will feature multiple three-day events at different times throughout the year depending on your location. To find upcoming dates for a location near you, please visit www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/conventions.
Ministry Ideaz offers products ranging from handcrafted leather book covers, through to video and board games to Jehovah’s Witnesses all over the world. With the aim of nurturing Biblical knowledge in people of all ages, Ministry Ideaz also maintains a blog in which it has spoken about the role the Bible plays in a strong marriage.
It references a number of Biblical passages, including Peter 4:8, which reads “Love covers a multitude of sins.” The purpose of this passage is to show people that marriage is a union between two people who are not perfect. People make mistakes in all marriages and each individual has the potential to hurt or fail a partner. Through the love of one another, such sins are overcome.
Couples also take strength from Ecclesiastes 4:12, which reads “A threefold cord cannot quickly be torn apart.” These three cords represent Jehovah God, husband, and wife, with the marriage being a relationship between the three that isn’t easily broken. Focusing on love for your partner and Jehovah God strengthens the union further.
Established by its family owners as a means to enable them to continue their ministry assignment, Quito, Ecuador-based Ministry Ideaz now ships its products to more than 180 countries around the world. It offers Biblical-related items for babies and toddlers since, as Ministry Ideaz points out in one of its blogs, there are essential benefits of early child exposure to the Bible.
The time spent reading bible stories to toddlers helps strengthen the bond between parents, the child, and Jehovah. At a young age children are very impressionable, and exposing them to Bible stories and values this early becomes an important part of their spiritual development. As children are trusting by nature, it much easier for them to absorb and be influenced by the Bible lessons.
A few minutes spent each day reading the words of Jehovah enables the child to view the world as it should be viewed according to the Bible. This produces a child that is unselfish and has a positive, helpful outlook in life. As the child grows and discovers the world, God’s words will serve as guidance.
Based in Ecuador, Ministry Ideaz provides hand crafted products to assist Jehovah’s Witnesses in their mission of spreading God’s Word. In the course of making these products, Ministry Ideaz has touched and enlightened many lives, including a lady named Zayra.
Zayra was recently baptized and joined the large family of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She first interacted with Jehovah’s Witnesses 20 years ago through her father. He used to make products for the Christian group, and they would hold Bible studies in Zayra’s home. Zayra was young but she knew they were studying the Bible. On a few occasions, she also read some of the Christian magazines. However, she was not fully interested yet. When her father stopped studying the Bible, she lost contact with the Christian group.
Later on, in 2007, Zayra started working with her father. They supplied materials used in making hand-crafted Bible covers and bags for Ministry Ideaz. Zayra was touched by how friendly and accepting the brothers and sisters of the faith were. They treated her as part of them, even calling her cousin. In 2016, Zayra and her son became unbaptized publishers. In 2017, she was baptized.
